Somewhere between international moves and long phone calls, we realized we were living the exact same story.

Between us lie degrees earned in Belgium and abroad, four maternity leaves, and careers rebuilt in a handful of countries inside and outside the EU. Yet every single milestone, whether marked by a new leadership team, a newborn, or a move to follow love, always led to the exact same quiet question: What do I actually want next?

Each time, the answer came from the same two places. First, a small circle of friends, three or four people going through something similar. We found more courage and honesty there than anywhere else. Second, a short list of trusted mentors we had collected over fifteen years each, kept in a little black book.

We both work in technology, so we didn’t do it the old-school way this time. We built Pirouette with Claude, Anthropic’s AI, as our co-builder. But Pirouette isn’t a cold, generic chatbot. It is a private, intelligent soundboard structured directly around thirty years of combined career experience, bringing executive-level mentorship frameworks into a programme and app we now use for our own next moves.
